How To Practice Better And Improve My Skateboarding?

Okay so im a 18yr old and i've been skating since 10yrs old but im still not that good at skateboarding so today i seen these 3 dudes in their seventeens they were long boarding and they were watching me as i was skating so i went up to these stairs to ollie it and they came over and sat to watch me ollie it but i wasn't sure if i was gonna make it because they were their and i didn't wanna make a fool of myself because i've been fearing these stairs for days now so i just kept standing their debating whether i should ollie it or not so i just said im not gonna do it so i walked over to the dudes who were watching me and one of the dudes asked me what was i gonna do i told him i was gonna ollie it so then he gave me this look as if i were a poser and he started asking me question on how long i've been skating and this dude showed me no respect it was like i was nothing to him but some dude trying to look cool and fit in and not to sound like a ***** but this is the worst thing anyone can ever put me in a category with but i admit im on a poser level but posers dont ******* skate for the love of it im out everyday skating in the rain no matter what im out skating everyday and i really feel bad that i have to come to yahoo to share my problems just because my mom or dad doesn't support me at all they treat me like **** it's like every time i ask them for advice it's just a response as in they don't care so i never share my thoughts with them but dude you don't no how bad it hurts to be looked at as a poser this **** hurts me so after i finished skating i just came in the house and started thinking on how to improve my skateboarding because today i've made this promise to myself that i would never ever go threw this experience again where im looked at as a poser skater trying to look cool because that just isn't me i truly love skateboarding and no one could ever take that away from me so if anyone has any tips on how to improve my skateboarding please give me answers i'll appreciate it so much.............Thanks
